Apple Cinnamon Quick Bread: Perfect Every Time!
This apple cinnamon quick bread is an all-time favorite in our house! We pop a loaf in the oven to bake as soon as we arrive home from the apple orchard each September. It has that fresh apple flavor we crave in the early fall, and fills our home with the sweetest aroma of cinnamon.
This bread is so simple and quick to whip together, I find myself making it often as a tasty treat for when company arrives for afternoon tea, or to gift to friends and neighbors. Just this past weekend our neighbor helped us trim some large shrubs in our front lawn, and this apple cinnamon quick bread was the perfect sweet little thank you gift!

Apple Cinnamon Quick Bread
Crisp apples, heaping teaspoons of cinnamon, and a simple sweet glaze all work together to create a quick bread that is easy to make and delightful to taste.
Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cook Time: 60 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
Equipment:
8.5 x 4.5 x 2.5 loaf pan
Whisk or hand mixer
Mixing bowls
APPLE CINNAMON QUICK Bread Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup whole milk (or whatever milk you have on hand!)
1 1/2 cups peeled, diced apples (about 2 medium apples or 3 small apples)
Glaze Ingredients:
1 cup icing sugar (confectioners sugar)
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions FOR MAKING APPLE CINNAMON QUICK BREAD:
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease the loaf pan with butter (I find this works better than using parchment paper to line).
2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until completely smooth. Then, add the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and milk. Mix until just combined, ensuring there are no dry spots.
3. Add the diced apples and combine with a large spoon or spatula. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Note: batter will be thick!
4. Bake for 60 minutes. Check to make sure the loaf is cooked through by inserting a toothpick into the center - if it comes out clean, it’s done! Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling completely.
5. While the bread is cooling, prepare the glaze. Whisk together the icing sugar, milk and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth.
6. Place the bread onto a piece of parchment paper and drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread. I like to do a thin layer of glaze, let it dry, and then go back in with another layer of glaze to build it up.
7. Slice and serve!
Serving Suggestions
This moist and delicious quick bread is lovely when served with freshly brewed tea or coffee, hot apple cider, whipped cream and even ice cream. It’s so versatile! If you find the loaf doesn’t get eaten up quick enough and goes a bit stale after 3 days, you can even slice it and make an amazing French toast as an extra special breakfast treat.
I hope you enjoy baking and savoring this apple cinnamon quick bread. It’s a simple yummy treat that’s perfect all year round, but makes an especially nice addition to any autumn day.
