Monday Musings
I can’t believe we are already in November! And that’s partly because I can’t fully believe that as of yesterday, November 3rd, Shawn and I have officially been married for one year. Holy moly, how the heck did the time fly by that quickly?
We spent the weekend being cozy and all mushy gushy as we assume most people do on a one-year wedding anniversary. We enjoyed each other, relished the last bits of fall weather before the cold and wet sets in for good, and ate a ton of yummy food (food is probably my main love language lol). Oh, and Shawn hit the ball way out of the park with his gift to me - a second wedding band - and I’m sat over here being dazzled every time the light hits my ring as I type this.
Still trying to decide if I should wear both bands together like this, or sandwich my engagement ring between them? Decisions decisions… ;)
I also got some practical winter prep/shopping done this weekend and am feeling quite chuffed with myself for being so on the ball. I bought new winter boots - a practical pair and a pretty pair haha - along with some thermal inserts, because Canadian winters are no joke. I did a lot of online research and comparisons before settling on the two pairs I bought, and wanted to share them as part of this week’s link roundup because I’m actually so impressed by the quality…
BUY: These Chelsea style booties from Ardene are so comfortable, so affordable, and so well-made (I also bought this pair)
DIY: These super simple white candles with the date on them to count down to Yule
WATCH: We watched Red Joan on Saturday and I really enjoyed the perspective - made me want to read the book!
EAT: I discovered this creamy garlic pork recipe and it was TO DIE FOR (I used lactose-free half and half and it turned out amazing)
WELLNESS: Mercury went back into retrograde, and it isn’t a bad thing
