Christmas With The Connors: 2019 Holiday House Tour

Welcome! Here’s a quick little rundown of our simple and slightly rustic Christmas decor this year. Be sure to scroll to the end to watch the video tour that I posted on my YouTube channel - you can also watch it here now if you prefer. :)

The first hint of Christmas you see when you walk in our front door!

The first hint of Christmas you see when you walk in our front door!

This little tree is the first hint of Christmas seen when you first walk in our front door. This lightly flocked faux tree with miniature pine cones is from Michaels, and all I did was pop it into a Dollar Store planter and top it with a cream bow (also from the Dollar Store!). Our foyer is a small space that needs to function, so I keep the decor super minimal in this space from one season to the next.

Now let’s move into the kitchen…

Our kitchen table…

Our kitchen table…

This year I decided to stick with our subtle blue theme in this space. The velvet dusty blue pillows are staying, so I added these blue taper candles to our chandelier to lend a festive yet cohesive glow during meals. They actually look so dreamy in here, I may buy more and keep them up all year!

On the table I’ve just popped some small bits of faux greenery into a jug that I use as a vase all year round. Want to know a secret? These bits of greenery are actually parts of two old garlands that had fallen apart in storage. This year a big goal of mine decor-wise was to use just what we already had; so, I scooped these random bits together and adhered them to some faux stems I had lying around (simple twigs from outside would work just as well!). Et voila!

In the main galley-style area of our kitchen I kept it super simple. It’s a small space, and I like to keep it pretty functional. That being said, swapping in a wreath along with some simple painted pine cones added a quick and easy festive touch to a space I spend a ton of time in.

And here’s the main event! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t someday dream to have a perfectly styled and cohesive tree straight out of a Martha Stewart photo shoot, but for now we’re pretty happy with our eclectic collection of ornaments. This tree is filled with ornaments collected over the last decade, so it’s full of memories and fun. :)
