Simple Spring Kitchen: Wood & White

Simple Spring Kitchen: Wood & White Theme www.heyjuliarae.com

Spring is just around the corner! Last week I got the spring cleaning itch, which has been snowballing into an entire refresh of our main living spaces. This year, I’m craving simple colour schemes with a whole lot of texture. Since I spend a ton of time in our kitchen, it was the first space that got a refresh.

Now I’m not someone who would ever be considered a minimalist - I appreciate a healthy amount of kitchen counter clutter haha. But this year I wanted that counter clutter to be a tab bit more… cohesive? Basically, I wanted a slightly more serene space without having to hide away the kitchen essentials I reach for most often.

I brought out some of my textured white pots, as they seem to add a subtle pop of interest without being too in-your-face. Then I layered in all of my wooden cooking utensils for those warm wooden tones that I adore so much. I love that these are both aesthetically pleasing and super practical to have within arms reach - I actually use these to cook everyday! I ended up tucking away my brighter silicone cooking utensils in the second drawer - still within easy reach!

The marble and wooden tray holding our butter, oils, salt and pepper is an old Homesense find that I still love. It’s perfectly imperfect, and works super well in this spot. It has found it’s new home for Spring!
