First, I just have to say right off the bat that I’m low-key in love with this brand. I’m a total sucker for their (very smart) marketing, aesthetic, and messaging. As an ‘89 baby I definitely qualify for more of an elder millennial status, but Mejuri’s millennial-focused branding totally draws me in.

I was first introduced to Mejuri while on a mission to flesh out my jewelry collection early last year. I wanted a few classic/quality gold and silver ‘base’ pieces that I would be able to wear anywhere and everywhere, and that could be easily dressed up or down. The hitch was that I wasn’t willing to shell out hundreds of dollars for a single pair of simple gold hoops. Enter Mejuri. Mejuri’s whole deal is affordable and accessible luxury, and luckily they actually deliver.

I already own a gold vermeil ring and some gold vermeil studs from the Mejuri brand, and this Christmas my husband Shawn gifted me these dainty little gold vermeil and pearl hoop earrings that I’d been eyeing up for several months. Something to note; gold vermeil is just a fancy way of saying gold-plated. While Mejuri does offer solid gold pieces, I’ve enjoyed playing around with the (much) lower priced gold vermeil pieces to see how they wear over time. Mejuri also claims that their 18K gold vermeil is thicker than regular gold plating, and if that’s true, it’s a definite bonus. That being said, gold vermeil does require more care, and will never last as long or as well as solid gold pieces. But I’m totally okay with that. The brand experience and the quality of the vermeil pieces are stellar, and it really feels like you are getting a bit more than what you are paying for, if that makes sense (although these earrings were a gift!).

Overall I’ve been super happy with my Mejuri pieces to date, and these pearl hoops (in my mind they’re more huggies than hoops) are no different. They look dainty but feel sturdy, and they offer a classic and elegant feel to any outfit fancy or casual. 10/10 would buy again. ;)
